Alastair continued staring at the ceiling for some time longer, the voices in the room somewhat muted against the internal clash of potential versus practicality. His brows furrowed further as that conflict turned slowly into frustration, which in turn caused his knee to bend and heel to bounce up and down.
"Yes- No. But yes, also." He shook his head. "Teleportation- it's not practical, and as far as we know it's not possible. Unless it is. The eldritch machine is down, and that... thing is dead. If we could communicate over long distances with effort, then maybe overcoming remaining magical resistance is possible- with effort. But we don't know and without a teleportation circle there's no way to test it out." As he spoke he gathered his belongings, pausing on the calculator. He noted the last numbers, scribbled it on an errant page, and tucked that away too.
"There's too many If's in my plans- and if I start running off on assumptions, it's going to cost us time. To that end- I'm off to take a walk. I need to know exactly what we're working with before I begin experimenting." With his items neatly tucked away, Alastair stood and Hermes scurried up his pant leg and upward to sit on his shoulder. "Keep in touch, yeah? I'll catch up with the scrum plans once we know what's what on that front."

(Reaction)
Konane blinked as Alastair went to pack things up, and before he said to keep in touch, she had scarfed down the other waffles she took. Much like a starving, wild animal, her maw opened further than she normally showed it.
It was easier to eat quickly, but it was also lacking in enjoyment of the food.
After a hiccup, pause, a second hiccup, she stood to follow him. "I will join you, I have not much else to do, and you are cute when you think too much."

"Oh. I had just assumed that if the machine that broke communication and teleportation was broken, then that meant teleportation was fixed. I hadn't assumed it would be more complicated than that." Sae said, clearly regretting having sent Alistair into some sort of tailspin. "And with the amount of wizards we have, we could just... magic there. But if it's more complicated than that, then an airship is fine."
