The group split several streets away from the Chapterhouse. Taliesin had paid attention to the city layout and recognized that splitting there would cut several minutes off of the travel to the castle. He gave a simple farewell and assured that they would see each other again in the morning.
Taliesin led Mirrai along the most efficient path to the castle that he knew. Of course, this wasn't the prettiest path, but there was something to be said for expedience after a long day. Once they were finally in the royal guest quarters Taliesin peeled off his bag and set it against the wall with his staff.
"Can you give me some insight to how things were back then?" He asked softly, untying and sliding off his elvish bracers. "I know you spent time trying to figure out how everything has changed, and that's important." He looked up to her and searched her eyes. "But outside of old creation stories and limited contact we honestly know nothing of the Gods."

Mirrai seemed more relaxed in the castle, her bearing changing subtly - were it not for her clothes, she might have fit in as one of the ladies of the keep. As it was, though, she kept mostly to herself until they were alone, and then sighed with relief as she undid her armor.
"No... you don't," she said, her voice carrying the sadness she had been holding close to her heart. "I spoke with the priests of all the temples, and the gods you worship... well, not you specifically, but all of you..."
She sighed and shook her head. "There were others. Not many, but enough for their disappearances to be felt. Desna, Shelyn, Cailean, Kurnoth, Erastil... Marrin. And others. I remember a world where the light of the divine shone wherever you walked, and the wings of the Dragons spread across the horizon..."
Mirrai trailed off, realizing she had said a bit more about her past than she had before, but they were quickly coming to a point where such reservations were pointless to hold onto.

Taliesin frowned initially as Mirrai began opening up. However, something flashed in his eyes as she touched on something he was aware of. "They're not all gone, or at least, knowledge and worship isn't completely gone even if they possibly fell during the Days of Fury."
He unclasped his cloak and shrugged it off his shoulders. "Those of the Deepwood still know of and honor Kurnoth. There were large protectors created by Zychni named after Kurnoth. And we even found a holy place to Kurnoth and spread word of it upon returning from Silvanis' First Shrine."
There was a small look of hope in his eyes as he watched for her reaction. Perhaps the information he offered might be of some comfort. Though he could only speak to one deity out of the list she gave.
