Sae turned her attention to Ve'ra. "Gathering the Windrunners that gather south of here and rendezvousing at a secondary location." Aware that they weren't in a protected space, she'd loop an arm around Ve'ra. "Shall we go back to the Chapterhouse? I can go over the details while I build a truly indecent amount of explosives."

Ve'ra rolled her eyes at Taleisin's statement of the obvious and kept her focus on Sae. "The Windrunners in the Greenvale? that won't be a problem." She let Sae guide her forward and unfolded her arms. "If you want to reach them with any kind of speed, we should probably use the ship, though."
Mirrai watched Ve'ra and Sae for a moment before looking back to Taliesin. "Is everyone gathering at the chapterhouse?" She wasn't aware of any plans they might have worked out during the day.

Taliesin watched as Sae hooked arms with Ve'ra and shifted attention back to Mirrai. "Not that I know of. Some of us returned to the Chapterhouse because we had reason to. The King and Queen have offered us to stay in the Castle if we like."
He moved closer and looked around at their surroundings. "The Glade was blocked earlier. So resting situation is down to a choice of Chapterhouse, Castle, or other." He looked back to Mirrai and wondered what she might prefer and whether he was included, or not.

"What Tali said- I planned on spending most of my evening working at the Chapterhouse. I have asked for help making as many explosives as possible, to help with the plan." She said, aware that they did not have a lantern and were talking on an open street.
"Hopefully they aren't too distracted by the events of the day, and can focus on what I asked for rather than their own plans."

Mirrai's eyes lit up at the mention of staying at the castle. "It's... not often one gets to stay at a castle. They should have some pleasant amenities to take advantage of... not that the Glade has ever failed in that respect," she added hastily as she slipped her hand into Taliesin's.
"I'm fine with the chapterhouse," Ve'ra said. "The looks of distrust have more to do with me not being a Gunslinger than anything else - it's rather refreshing. Besides, I need to talk to my brother. It seems he's been offered a contract to do more extensive work with the Gunslingers, but it would mean travelling to the Black Tower to continue his research."
While she mentioned the offer nonchalantly, there was a faint undercurrent of concern in her voice.

Taliesin couldn't hide the small smile of his reaction to Mirrai taking hands. He was suitably distracted from the unintentional jab at his magical resting place. "It's quite a place to behold." He offered as he gently pulled Mirrai along to follow Sae and Ve'ra for a short period.
He looked forward. "That's a long trip. Especially when you take our travel luck into account." He wasn't trying to drum up concern, but at the same time they had several run-ins mid transport. He almost said more, but then remembering their current situation he shifted topics. "How was your time in the city? Find anything you were looking for?"
He gave Mirrai's hand a squeeze. The question was mostly for her, but was open enough to include Ve'ra by tone and context.

Sae smiled. "It'd likely be safer at the Black Tower than traveling with us, and I doubt our travel luck would extend to him." Sae countered- knowing that Ve'ra was likely nervous about her brother.
Or about them both, as it was entirely possible that Ve'ra would follow him. Would she? What did that mean- if anything?

"...Yes," Mirrai said softly to Taliesin's question, "and... no." After a brief pause, she continued, "I visited all of the temples, and spoke with the priests there. I have a better sense of the world now... I knew it had changed considerably from what I remembered, but... I hadn't know just how much."
Ve'ra grunted an agreement with Sae. "That's true. And I know how much he enjoys his research. Digging into the mysteries of the aberations, as he calls them... I think it would suit him well."

Taliesin nodded and shifted his hand to entwine their fingers rather than keep a crab hold. "I can't even begin to imagine. We only got a primer on things we weren't taught when we traversed the First City." He gave a nod upwards to Ve'ra, not that anyone but Mirrai saw that motion.
Ve'ra's statement surrounding Ta'ro caused him to interrupt. "Do you plan to go with him and keep him in check?" He had genuine concerns given just how far Ta'ro and Mirrai went in their research and seemed to almost have gone too far.

Taliesin, as usual, asked the question she had been thinking of and not yet ready to ask. She kept her eyes on the road, listening.

"I... don't know," Ve'ra said, reluctantly addressing the question she knew she must, at some point. "Thus far we've always traveled together. Sometimes parted for a few days, but... rarely across long distances." She paused briefly before continuing, "This is is the first time where our paths don't seem so clearly aligned."
Mirrai remained quiet, but gently squeezed Taliesin's hand.

Taliesin kept himself from saying anything further on the matter without Sae having some sort of input herself. He looked far ahead on their path, keeping an eye out for any trouble.
"Always interesting the hustle and bustle in a capital city when the crazed acting leader is deposed." He said softly. "A couple days of uncertainty as the rumors are quelled with official stories." He smirked softly as he thought on how multiple elements of the liberation of Kyr matched to the liberation of Kel'Mar from Torin Luthadel.

Sae let the subject drop- Ve'ra was undecided, and in public was not the best way to discuss all the ifs, ands, and buts of her moving across the world to be with her brother.
She'd give Ve'ra's arm what she hoped would be a reassuring squeeze.
"Hopefully the rumors aren't too close to the truth. I doubt the Chapterhouse wants the attention."

Ve'ra was happy enough to let the issue of the impending travel arrangements sit for now. It did dampen her mood, though, and she grunted noncommittally to the turn in conversation - although she did lift a hand to rest over Sae's, giving it a return squeeze.
"...With the king back to his sense, hopefully the rumors will be quashed quickly," Mirrai added, sensing the shifting moods and happy to assist in shifting things in a different direction. "I know none of you are from Astorea, but... are any of the others? What is this king's nature like?"

Taliesin shrugged. "None of us are Astorean." He looked to Mirrai. "But we-" he said with a small motion of his head to Sae. "-are the closest by far."
He continued after the briefest pause to order his words. "Elias is a good man from what we've been exposed to so far. He's level headed for a warrior king, and seems to be worthy of all the loyalty that those closest to him afford. I'm confident that any false narratives will be addressed quickly."
"Though, with the way we roll through places there might be some rumors that we don't mind floating about."
