Rey grunted, sitting up fully to stretch her neck. "Depends. Some people clamp up around me. Might'n want to check in with the runts; you'd be surprised how much people don't notice kids. We-....They hear all sorts of things. Bet they got some stories running' around of secret warriors hidin' out in the city."

Vincent nodded, and smiled at the slip from Rey. "Yeah, I am sure if they don't already know anything, with a good meal and more warmth I am sure they can snoop for us as well. I hate to... utilize them with such things, but they're proving themselves in their own ways."
"So, we scrounge up breakfast, find the kids, see what they know- or don't know- from that we figure out if we want to send them out to snoop or not, and at the same time, we can do some snooping ourselves."

"I know I'll likely be overruled, but I'm not a fan of dragging children into this mess. They nearly killed us last night. I highly doubt they'll develop morals regarding who's life they end." Cerys frowned deeply.
"We can ask them about what they already know, but I'm firmly against sending them into anything."

"I'm with cherry. The kids don't get into any more trouble than they're already into." Jinn stood and started toward the stairs. "Let's get something to eat, bring em a doggy bag. We can ask em if they've seen the hellriders, bit let's avoid tellin' em too much so they don't get curious. Let's get it done and go from there." And with that, Jinn made his way down toward the bar.

As Jinn led the way downstairs, they found the common room a little livelier than Cerys had, no doubt due to Zodge's departure. In fact, as the Lucky Hand descended, a number of patrons took this as a sign that the second floor was now available, and began to gather their breakfasts to head upstairs. The place did not look as busy as it did at night, but there was still a respectable crowd for being so early in the morning.

Rey shrugged a non-committal acceptance, yawning as she gathered her things before following downstairs.

Crystal was right with Rey, finally glad that their meeting was over with a plan of action, and they could grab some food.
"You can probably already tell this about me Cerys," Crystal commented, "but I care about those kids too. I don't have any plans to get them anywhere near the type of danger we were in-- and anyone who tries to hurt them will know just how bad of a mistake they made."

"That's fine too." Vincent nodded, and got up to follow the others.

Cerys looked to Crystal, watching her for a long moment- as if choosing her words carefully, before nodding.
"I believe you do, Crystal." She didn't add anything further before heading down the stairs after Jinn.

Crystal squinted at Cerys. "Wh-- what does that mean? Why'd you say it like that?"

Jinn shot glances at the other patrons, the card sharks, and the like as they made their way past. A few non-committal hey's and howyadoin's later and he made his way to the stairs leading lower still. All the while he kept his ears open for general gossip. (Perception: 19)

As they crossed the common room, Jinn could hear many of the patrons complaining about the town guard throwing their weight around and complaining that a man couldn't even have a drink in piece. A few whispered exchanges were pointed in the direction of the Lucky Hand, some witnesses of the previous night's brawl. It was hard to tell how many people were impressed by them and how many were afraid of them.
Alan Alyth was not afraid, however, and they threw their bar towel over one shoulder as the party approached the counter. Several seats had opened up in the wake of the morning crowd shifting about. "Good morning everyone. How was the coffee?"

Rey gave the other patrons a side-eye but otherwise didn't seem too bothered by anyone else. Food seemed more on the agenda, then figuring out what the kids knew.

Alan's greeting was met with Crystal's smile. "Thanks very much, I had a good serving, and it was much appreciated. Would we be able to get something to eat? We'll probably be pretty mobile but I'd like something not so heavy on the stomach."
She took a casual look around then, gauging the mood of the room. "And how's it going this morning around here? Last night's excitement hasn't hurt you too much?"
