"...-tain Zodge," Zodge finished for Jinn, speaking slowly. "Boy, it must of hurt something fierce when you got dropped, huh?"
He turned and began walking toward the stairs. "Reward's still on the table for you folks. So far you've kicked a hornet's nest - kill a couple of them fuckers and I'll be sure you get paid for it. Ya'll have a good day now."
As Zodge began to make his way downstairs, the guards waiting for him stood at attention. Alan returned a few moments after heading into the kitchen with a serving girl following him with a pitcher and five mugs on a large round platter. The girl had a similar androgynous look as Alan, but wore a dress, her long hair pulled back into a braid. She smiled briefly at Cerys and looked ready to follow her upstairs.

Rey grumbled an assent after Jinn, acknowledging letting Zodge know anything else that turned up.
Didn't seem like they were anywhere near being able to leave this shit, not with all the do-gooders in place. Although Rey wasn't against helping keep some muckity-mucks from interfering with the rabble. Wasn't fair for people's homes and lives to be disturbed by all this.
Another grumble as she thought, but she didn't say anything.

"Ugh, I was afraid of that," Crystal groaned when Zodge made it clear that he didn't have the ears of the higher-ups. "Nothing saying we can't consider looking at their operations on the ground-- the relief thing. We'll come up with some plans.
She then looked up at, then mimicked Jinn's salute. "Those are good questions we don't have the answers too, yet. The first to know, indeed."
She then paused, then stepped forward to thump the Captain on his back as he was leaving.
"We did take out about three or more of them, and got you someone. That's worth a couple copper for a drink, mmm~?" Her smile was sweet-- too sweet.

Captain Zodge paused at the top of the stairs. And turned. And stared at Crystal. Then looked over his shoulder, toward his back, then back at Crystal with the most incredulous look on his face.
"...Did you just fucking touch me?"

Vincent just watched as Crystal got casual with Captain Zodge. He blinked some, and shook his head a little.

((reaction)) Jinn laughed loudly at the display, and Zodge's reaction. Leaning back in his chair with one arm draped over the back rest he called over. "She knows you like em ballsy, cap. Chalk it up to your... Infectious aura of confidence." He enunciated the last three words as if practiced. Those three copper words weren't cheap, after all.

Zodge eyed Crystal for another long moment. "Don't," he said, with a stern expression on his face. He then turned and started down the stairs.

Jinn cocked a brow as Zodge descended the stairs, squinting slightly. Once he was certain the cycloptic guard captain was out of earshot, he glanced at Crystal. "...I don't think he's the kinda guy to get palsy with." He pinched the bridge of his nose and rubbed his face. "...That or maybe the whole one-eye thing's got him afraid a' physical intimacy."

Crystal's face remained one of calm expectation through the whole encounter, only dropping once Zodge was far enough to be considered out of earshot. She smacked her teeth while shaking her head.
"You have the wrong of it, I'm not trying to be palsy, I'm trying to be professional. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for some copper to get a drink when we delivered him what, three bodies and someone they can try to convince to talk? He was desperate and uncaring enough to deputize us, and we're delivering results within days. I'm not saying we have to lean on him hard, but just as much as we need the freedom his name gives us, he needs the information he hadn't been able to gather."

"Evidently you need to work on being professional." Vincent sighed some, and rested his arms on the table. "He never agreed to pay us as we went solving things, and maybe that's a mistake on our part. Honestly, we're all more or less kind of... new to this, I assume, at least new to working with one another, in this way."
He chewed the inside of his cheek, and shrugged. "If we keep up the work, maybe he'll supply us with something we might need, who knows."

Passing Zodge on the stairs was a thankfully silent affair- she got the feeling the man didn't like them very much. To be honest, she didn't think he liked anyone much. Cerys wasn't really concerned about him liking her anyway.
Was he tall, dark, and handsome? Sure. But he was also kind of a dick.
Coming up the stairs with a pitcher of coffee and a few cups, she arched an eyebrow at Crystal's... continuing concern about money.
"I believe we were offered a significant amount of pay when the job was done- which it isn't, unless you all learned something remarkable in the last few minutes." Cerys said, beginning to set out coffee cups- and filling her own.
