Vanya's fretting was interrupted by the strangest question Verdi could have asked. She blinked, her thoughts stumbling as they thought to catch up with the abrupt conversational shift. "What? Oh. Oh, ha. I mean, as a general rule, yes. But I think you mean as a bed partner, which... again, yes."
She shrugged a little and flashed a smile. "Everyone has something unique to bring to the table. So to speak."

Verdi nodded. This wasn't really an embarrassing subject, not around Vanya at least. Verdi knew what he was, and they didn't really explain much about themselves very often.
It wasn't really a secret, either. The topic never came up, so he never talked about it. But, it was something Vanya would have to know... and knowing she was okay with whatever, then it made Verdi a lot more relaxed.
"Sorry, I just figured I'd... talk about this stuff to distract you." He blushed some, and lowered his ears a little.
"I... don't really talk about myself. I don't really think about myself, either. Sex... is the furthest thing from my mind. I am quite the opposite of you, with that. I never thought I'd develop feelings, either. Not after Monte, anyway. You have always been a friend. But things are different, now, and we are still very new in this relationship..."
"I know what you are, what struggles you have. But... you should know that I am... not exactly male. It's what I feel more comfortable with. Luckily, my body never really... branched out into any sort of... feminine shape." He chuckled, and looked to her.
"A lot of people have been confused. It's not that I don't want to tell everyone, it's just... doesn't feel very important when you're not actively looking for a partner."

Vanya looped Verdi's arm in her's and leaned against him again. "I know, Verdi," she said. "I've known for a long term. But... like you said, it's not very important. You are you, however you want to present yourself, and that's always been fine with me. I know intimate topics can be uncomfortable for you... I'm happy to see you opening up to me. It makes me feel special."

"I just wanted to make sure you knew, is all. It's a subject not everyone likes, especially when they're seeking something in someone." He smiled, and leaned his head on top of hers, making sure not to bump his horn on her.
"I'm quite smitten with you. I think I've always had a thing for you, for longer than I've realized. Really didn't hit me until I was back on Aegise for a bit..."
That was already information shared, but he felt like repeating himself for the sake of conversation. Smiling still, he chuckled.
"Maybe the next time I go back, you can come with me. I am sure my parents will be thrilled to find out I've got an interest in someone."

Vanya felt warmed by Verdi's admission, and leaned into him with a soft sigh. "I'd like that. All I know of Aegise comes from what you've shared with me. I'd offer to bring you to Gilneas, but I am content never to return. There's nothing there for me... and far more to avoid..."

"I don't blame you. You left because you didn't want to be there, I left because... well... I've got that wanderer's shoes. I really enjoy being on Te'Kaal, I don't mind the weather, and the island has so much to explore and find..."
He chuckled, and squeezed her hand. "I hope to explore more, with you. Maybe less magic and fighting. Not sure when that's going to all slow down... seems like a lot of things are brewing. I know Karn wants to go south, into uncharted territory. We have things to find, after all. He's a wanderer, too... but I think he's been all over... a shame he doesn't remember things very well."

Vanya nodded. "Hopefully after we get settled in New Haven."
Pulling away slightly, Vanya turned to look at Verdi and cocked her head to one side. "You know... speaking of changes, I don't think we've really talked about your transformation. That makes two times, now."

Verdi blinked a little, looking to her. Right... when he got concerned about Vanya he... well, what was that? Something Kelevera did to him? Unlocked...
"Mmn... I seem to only feel that change when you're in trouble..." He scratched the side of his face, glancing away. "It's like a fight or flight reflex, a reaction. Kelevera kind of... unlocked it? Something that I've always had. I've always been a bit of a feral person, honestly." He chuckled, not seeming to be concerned about the change.
"I just... focus on what the problem is. Do I change quite a bit when I am like that?"

Vanya snorted. "I don't know if I'd call you a 'feral' person, Verdi. Outdoorsy, sure... but you're a kitten at heart. When you change, though..."
Vanya pursed her lips, then looked down to her free hand, clenched it and looked back at Verdi. "You're more... aggressive. Not so restrained. It's... not so much that you gain something, but... almost like you lose something..."

Vanya studied Verdi for a moment before answering. "No... No, it doesn't seem to change you. Fascinating... you're able to lose yourself, but then... come back to yourself, as though nothing had changed." She cocked her head to one side. It was almost unfair that he could-
No. No, she clamped down that thought immediately.
"That's good, at least. I like you the way you are. I don't want to see anyone struggle with anything like what I have to struggle with."

Verdi sighed softly, and moved his arm around her to bring her into a side hug. "And I don't want you to struggle. If you can think of any way I could help, just let me know. I... I really don't like seeing you in trouble like that..."
He frowned some, and left his arm around her back, gently holding her arm with his hand. "I'm a firm believer that there's always something that can be done about a situation. Just a means of figuring out what it is."

Vanya closed her eyes and leaned into Verdi's embrace. "You're doing everything right, Verdi. Right now, there's not much that can be done except... keep moving, and see what happens. Although... maybe you can just... keep an ear out and divert any rumors away from me. Oh! And maybe just... reassure... anyone who thinks something strange is happening in the caravan."
