Sae frowned deeply, looking up to Ve'ra. "I don't know who it is- but I'll find out." Sae's hands went to her gun belt, taking it off and holding up to Ve'ra.
"If someone is going to fuck with my mind, I want to know who it is. But I'd rather do it with you holding on to my weapons."

Ve'ra frowned as she took her weapons. "Are you sure
A chuckle. There's no need to worry about that. The palantir's... suggestive... effects cannot be used on another user on the network.
this is a good idea?"

"A good idea? Hells, probably not. If it was a good idea, you wouldn't have my guns. This is solidly some Mareki bullshit." Sae said to Ve'ra, shrugging her shoulders.
She turned her head to the side, as if to make it clear she was not talking to Ve'ra.
"And you can just shush. If you want to chat, you'll let me take whatever precautions I need beforehand."

There was a soft chuckle, but the voice did not speak.
Ve'ra studied Sae closely and nodded slightly. "If something happens, I'll pull you inside."

Sae turned her head to Ve'ra and gave her a nod. "Good planning."
With a bit more trepidation than she had when she was speaking with Master Winters or Ratha, she once again opened her mind to the orb- as instructed. She concentrated on the palantir, focusing on no one but the orb and network itself.

The inky darkness swirled and drew Sae's sight inwards, and as she sank into the churning clouds, she saw a flash of red, a jagged fork of lightning that seemed to stretch out from her in seven different directions. One to the north and east of her position, a location her mind immediately identified as Kyr. Another much further north, but only slightly more eastern than Kyr... somewhere in the Firbolg Tribelands. Further east from there, across the vast distance, was another. South of that location, far south, was a fourth, and further east - yet also far south west of her - was a glowing red light, linked to her own by the fading light of the red flash.
The seventh was connected, but... indistinct. Beyond a shroud of darkness, her mind unable to lock in upon it.
Turning her attention toward that singular glowing orb, Sae focused and felt herself drawn forward, into the red light as the dark clouds receded around her vision. She found that she was gazing out into a plain room of dark, polished hardwood, with no visible door, and only two pieces of furniture resting atop a deep red carpet. The first was the golden pedestal upon which the palantir rested. The second was a finely crafted chair with red upholstery, upon which was seated a man.
A man in black leather boots, and slim black trousers. A black long-sleeved tunic was worn beneath a black leather vest with gold buttons fastening it closed. In one hand was a small glass holding an amber liquid, and on his hip was a black leather holster.
His skin was tanned and his features sharp and handsome. His black hair was pulled back and tied with a simple black cord. His dark eyes were locked onto the palantir - locked upon Sae's own eyes, as she came face to face - metaphorically speaking - with the Man in Black.
"Hello, gunslinger," he murmured, raising his glass to his lips. "I'm glad you accepted my invitation. Shall we chat?"
