Verdi nodded to Vanya. "Yes... You know Abyssal..." He pursed his lips some, and looked back to Alina.
"So... expect a courtroom experience when... whoever shows up to yell at you?"

Alina gave an honest shrug. "I don't know if it will be a court martial or just a celestial coming to kick my ass in the middle of the caravan. I don't know how formal it gets with..." She held up her hand. "This. But, I think you both, Galium, Uncle Nori, the party from dragon fight, the demon fight, the fight in the refuse pit."
She sighed.
"Perhaps that will weigh the scales in my favor. But... I will need to write a letter to Salihn, in the meantime. It seems... prudent."

"'Abyssal,'," Vanya corrected Verdi absentmindedly. "That is understandable. I am sure it will not be as bad as you fear. The fact that an emissary is coming suggests that a decision has not yet been made, yes? That we have the opportunity to... discuss. I'm sure it will turn out okay."

"That's what I said..." Verdi quietly replied, and looked back at Alina.
"I... do not know how well I would be in vouching for you... Maybe... mmmn." He glanced over to where maybe some of the party was? Squinting, he looked back to Alina.
"Norixus would be... much better."

"I'll ask him too." Alina said to Verdi with a nod. "But, you've seen me kill a dragon and a demon, and that has to be worth something, right?"
As far as Vanya, she shook her head. "I don't know how bad it will be. Jeanne looked very worried- probably more worried than I've ever seen her before."

"That is understandable... a week ago, I would have been extraordinarily concerned at being visited by a celestial. Now..."
She turned to watch the skeletons and the warforged moving four-armed gorilla carcasses from the flying boat to the ground, and thought about Edith lurking nearby. She knelt and scooped up Petal to keep her from climbing back into the cauldron and began to pet her.
"...Now, it seems like... being visited by one's employer, I suppose?" Vanya winced. "Our lives are very... strange."

"Adventuring never used to be this strange. I think... whatever brought us together is... well... something is going on." Verdi shrugged, and fiddled with his pencil, which looked like it was whittled to nearly a nub from use. "Honestly, Vanya, what you are experiencing isn't... normal."

Alina gave Vanya a crooked grin. "I don't know, I've always found adventuring quite dramatic. But it is true, the stakes have certainly risen in the last few weeks."
She sighed, looking around them.
"Alright. I am going to go find Nori and see if he'll testify to how sweet and innocent I am."

Vanya flashed Verdi a fond smile as he turned to his pencil. "My life was never normal to begin with... now it is just... exciting."
She looked back to Alina and nodded. "I am sure he will be happy to assist. If there's anything more you need, please let me know - I am happy to help!"
