Pheuse kept his eye out even though he didn't see what he had looked onward for. He stayed astride Chev while Porter focused in on the gift task with Neuks.

As they neared the shops, Neuks queried, "would it be more appropriate to buy individual gifts or something they could share, do you think? Of course, if it is a lot of people, individual gifts would be difficult, but for four that is more manageable for just one firbolg."

"I believe in this instance, the safest option would be something that could be shared. It's not uncommon for house staff to socialize together outside of their normal responsibilities, of course, and I cannot be certain precisely the size of the staff. Here, for example..." Porter gestures to one shop as they walk by, the windows showing gleaming slices of exotic fruits preserved through skillful candying, some partially dipped in various chocolates and artfully displayed in a mosaic of color. "Something of this nature would be an excellent option. Or if you would prefer something more decorative, I believe I saw some sculptures a few shops down." The other shop Porter indicated looked like a glassblower's shop with small abstract sculptures on display, each under a protective dome. Looking a bit closer, it looks the glass contains a flame that moves and whirls along the interior surface, changing color and intensity as it does. The shop glowed very slightly from the display though none of the pieces individually was brighter than a dim lantern.
Porter watched Neuks's reaction to see if either struck her fancy, ready to make other suggestions if neither appeals to save her having to decline the first available options.

Pheuse continued to refrain from speaking as he looked ahead. He had no sight-line on a storefront that might assist Neuks in her mission. At least not yet. As they neared Cannith house he began to ponder on order of operations. Once he picked up the goods he and Porter would be busy for at least 15 minutes if not closer to an hour.
Outward to the others he simply would look back to them from atop Chev with a welcoming smile as they continued to discuss the finer nuances of gift giving and the propriety thereof.

Neuks interest was definitely piqued at seeing the shifting flames in all colors, and she almost made a turn for the shop. But she notably paused, then turned towards the one that sold the candied fruits. "I think the fruits will be best for sharing, I'll get those for the gift." She looked over her shoulder at the other shop before continuing on towards the fruit... "but I will come back to look at those later, they are very pretty."

"An excellent choice." Porter nods in satisfaction, clearly agreeing with the decision. "I often find gifts such as this also avoid clutter, as they may have many number of guests throughout the year. Though I'm very pleased you enjoy the sculpture, as well." As Neuks makes her decision, Porter steps forward to the shop to open the door for the others before continuing. "I'm certain several Houses commission artists locally, though I don't recall immediately which. If you wish to see more while you are here, I would be happy make inquiries into any exhibitions."

The sweets store was a bright, colorful place- and stepping from the streets of Flamekeep into it would likely cause anyone whiplash.
The shop was small- probably fifteen feet long and ten feet wide, with walls on all sides filled with beautiful displays of candies artfully sculpted into bouquets, trees, animals, and even mythical beasts like dragons.

"Thank you, Porter," Neuks smiles as she enters. As such a tall firbolg, Neuks felt a little big for the shop. She carefully set down her bag and weapons so she didn't accidently knock them into one of the displays. Carefully stepping through the shop, she ended up in front of the candy animal sculptures. Did they have an alpaca? Because that's what she would pick, if they did!

Pheuse came to a halt with Chev. He waited outside of the shop and looked around the market street. He could see where Cannith house was from here. There was no real rush to get there yet. For a moment he let his mind wander to the work that he would be doing in the next few hours.

There was, among the delightfully organized shelves, a list of Animals- Farm, and with the several other farm animals (a pig made of candied oranges, a set of chickens made of spun sugar), there was an alpaca. It's wool seemed to be made out of delicate candy floss, over a body of chocolate.

"This one!" Neuks grinned, turning around to spot the cashier. "How much for this alpaca, please?" A candy aplaca was perfect.

Porter sees Pheuse's contemplative look and steps into the shop, giving him a bit of quiet to think. They stay near the entrance, glancing casually over the displays and mentally confirming the quality of the work, waiting for Neuks to complete her purchase so they can take the parcel if desired.
